Supply Chain Experts

You're Only As Strong As Your Weakest Link

While there is overwhelming evidence that Supply Chain Management is a top initiative for many firms seeking to improve efficiencies by various degrees of integration with customers and suppliers, far less attention has/is being given to internal processes, which results in a disconnect in planning between the Sales & Marketing and Operations functions that will inhibit the alignment of demand with supply, and will prevent firms from fully realizing benefits of a “value network”.

Our research results confirm that the disconnect problem is wide spread, but there is evidence that firms’ recognize the problem and are making attempts to close the gap. The paper makes specific recommendations for resolution of the sales and operations planning disconnects based on research results.

This paper was a collaborative effort by Pat Lupica and Dr. Simon Croom; see attached paper to view research results. Questions, comments, etc, can be directed to Pat Lupica at pat@lnkconsulting.net

You may participate in an on-going survey, and at the end, view cumulative results of what others are doing to balance supply and deamnd.
